The Book of Kwun Tong : for clarinet, violin, cello and piano / Yip Ho Kwen Austin
描述:
The Book of Kwun Tong is a collection of seven short pieces, with each depicting an important stage/incident of Kwun Tong, a district in Hong Kong. The work begins with the first movement “Kwun Foo”, which is an older name of the district in the Ming Dynasty, according to “Yuet Dai Gei. The second movement “New Town” depicts the development of Kwun Tong in the 1950s, and the third movement “Factory” portrays how Kwun Tong gradually became an industrial center. The fourth movement “Kai Liu” laments the flooding incident in 1972, and the fifth movement “Train” describes the construction of the Kwun Tong MTR station in 1979. The sixth movement “Business” depicts the transformation of Kwun Tong into a business district, and the final movement “Rebuild” mourns for the recent redevelopment.
